Christmas Card 2010

This is, of course, my Christmas card this year and not a real book in this form. I borrowed a recent cover I did for Baen Books for this faux beat up copy of a thriller. The real book this cover is for is Grantville Gazette VI and it is a collection of stories around Eric Flint's 1633 series. Click here to learn about this very successful and very well done long-running series. Below is the inside of the card. The physical card is going out late for anyone expecting one.

Blood curdling AND festive! That's quite the combination. :-)

Merry Christmas to you Tom. (my cards are going to be terribly late this year as well).

Hi Tara, I really liked your Halloween postcard so I look forward to your Xmas card even if late. My card will come with a bookmark and bad poetry on the back -- something utilitarian, something to make people groan, a holiday tradition here.

I mean the card to read at first like one of those deep gravely voiced narrators up till you get to the 'festive' and then read it with an upbeat cheery voice.

Tom - your comment had me laughing out loud! So great to see you posting regularly again. The card is great, and the inks on the previous post are beautiful. Here's to a great 2011 and I look forward to seeing your magic in the upcoming months! Take care my friend.

Tom,

Thanks for stopping by too - wow - what a huge compliment that a master like you would list my doodles as recommended viewing! Thank you. I'll continue to follow your blog, imitate your paintings and hope to do some decent work this year.

Thanks guys. I look forward to seeing the new art on your blogs.

The newest follower of my blog is "Online Viagra." He or she writes the most perceptive comments. My understanding is the people who do this, *real people*, live in Russia or eastern Asia and are paid by the number of comments they make. That they'd take the time to write such thoughtful things about my art is gratifying ;-).
