Mattias, I spent the day yesterday painting a cityscape and drawing airships. These, as I'm sure you've guessed, were pulled out of the file. However, when I do concept design I can pump out a few colored drawings (not like the paintings you see here but much sketchier) a day. It's fun to have the pressure to produce but not have to worry that much about everything being perfect, as if it ever is.
Lately I've gotten a bit too fussy. I tossed out all my recent airship drawings. Tonight I'll redraw them. Maybe when I get that moleskin sketchbook I'll stop being so anal.
Tomorrow I have to give a painting demo to a group of artists. It could go well or it could be terrible. I never know.

damit I'd love to see your demo. but oh well. your robots have very organic outlines. and they look like somehting people would put together themselves in their futuristic garages rather than mass=produced. maybe because brand things are always over-heavy on pushing a certain design philosophy. The color is fantastic!

Tomorrow I'll put some pages from a Chinese magazine that interviewed me and printed some of my Gnemo stuff. I'd do it tonight but I need to go to bed early so I can get up at dawn to give a slideshow four times to four huge groups of very excitable 4th and 5th graders. After that, though, I may be too exhausted to do much. It is a paying gig so I work hard to make it as interesting as possible.
I've thoroughly enjoyed looking through your two sites. I was especially intrigued by your Nemo site. You're one of the few people that I've run across that went off in a different direction with your blog like I did, with a fantasy blog. My blog is episodic, and it is driven by the weekly Illustration Friday words, with makes for a unique challenge, to weave the IF word into each episode. I'll check back often.
Dear Tom, I teach a 7th grade GATE class. I teach literature, science, math and social science. I currently have my students reading Fahrenheit 451. The movie is awful and I refuse to show it.
